The Missouri River Winter Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Missouri from December through March. The Missouri tailwater fishes year-round. Cold water from the dam keeps the fishery stable, and midges provide consistent feeding opportunities even on the coldest days.

This box is built around the Missouri's winter hatch calendar — midges almost exclusively. Every fly was chosen with tight-line nymphing and small midge dry fly fishing in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.

What's in the box:

36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering midge larvae in multiple colors, zebra midges, brassies, and midge clusters. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.

Pro tip from the water: Winter midge hatches on the Missouri can look like snow coming off the water. Fish clustered midge patterns in the film for rising fish on calm, cold mornings.
