Beaverhead River - Winter Fly Box
Fish the Beaverhead like you know it — because now you do.
The Beaverhead River Winter Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Beaverhead from December through March. The Beaverhead tailwater stays fishable all winter. Midge activity is consistent and trout feed steadily, making it one of the most reliable winter fisheries in southwest Montana.
This box is built around the Beaverhead's winter hatch calendar — midges with occasional BWO activity. Every fly was chosen with nymphing with small midge patterns under an indicator in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.
What's in the box:
36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering midge larvae, zebra midges, scuds, and RS2s. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.
Pro tip from the water: Fish slow and deep in winter. Beaverhead trout aren't aggressive in cold water — they want an easy meal drifted right through their feeding lane.
Whether you're making your first trip to the Beaverhead or you fish it every season, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop.
Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines.
