Madison River (YNP) - Fall Fly Box
Fish the Madison like you know it — because now you do.
The Madison River (YNP) Fall Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Madison inside Yellowstone National Park from September through October. Fall brings the most famous event on the park Madison — large brown and rainbow trout pushing up from Hebgen Lake, stacking in the deep pools near the West Entrance and producing some of the best streamer fishing in all of Yellowstone.
This box is built around the park Madison's fall fishing calendar — articulated streamers for migrating browns and BWOs for the dry fly windows that still occur on overcast afternoons. Every fly was chosen with swinging big flies through the deep runs near the West Entrance in mind, giving you exactly what you need to catch the fish that make October on the Madison a bucket-list experience.
What's in the box:
36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering articulated streamers, Sculpin patterns, Woolly Buggers, BWO dries, and Pheasant Tail nymphs. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.
Pro tip from the water: September 15 through closing day is when the park Madison really turns on for large fish. Plan your trip for October and target the deep pools with big articulated streamers at dawn.
Whether you're making your first trip to the park Madison or you fish it every season, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop.
Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines.
