Ruby River - Spring Fly Box
Fish the Ruby like you know it — because now you do.
The Ruby River Spring Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Ruby from April through early June. Spring on the Ruby means rising flows and waking fish. Water is cold through May but nymphing produces well, and the lack of crowds means you often have long stretches entirely to yourself.
This box is built around the Ruby's spring hatch calendar — midges, blue-winged olives, and early stoneflies. Every fly was chosen with nymphing runs and slower pockets in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.
What's in the box:
36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering stonefly nymphs, midge patterns, BWO emergers, and small soft hackles. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.
Pro tip from the water: Access the Ruby early before runoff peaks. The fish are hungry coming out of winter and less selective than they'll be later in the season.
Whether you're making your first trip to the Ruby or you fish it every season, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop.
Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines.
