The Ruby River Summer Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Ruby from June through August. Summer transforms the Ruby into a hopper paradise. Grassy banks, warm afternoons, and wild trout that don't see many flies make this one of the best summer hopper fisheries in the region.

This box is built around the Ruby's summer hatch calendar — caddis, PMDs, and grasshoppers. Every fly was chosen with hopper fishing along the banks and dry fly fishing during hatches in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.

What's in the box:

36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering hopper patterns, elk hair caddis, PMD dries, and attractor nymphs. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.

Pro tip from the water: Fish hoppers tight to the bank in July and August. The Ruby's trout aren't shy — a well-placed hopper gets attacked, not sipped.
