The Slough Creek Spring Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on Slough Creek from late May through June. The lower meadow near the campground is accessible from opener, but spring here means nymphing — the water is cold, the fish are not yet keyed in on surface food, and the selective dry fly fishing that defines Slough Creek doesn't fully develop until the river clears.

This box is built around Slough Creek's spring hatch calendar — stonefly nymphs, BWOs, and early-season streamers for the Cutthroat coming off winter. Every fly was chosen with fishing the lower meadow with stealthy nymphing approaches in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.

Pro tip from the water: The lower meadow below the campground holds good fish in early spring and sees less pressure than the well-hiked upper sections. Start here and work downstream before making the push to the upper meadows.
