Yellowstone River (YNP) - Spring Fly Box
Fish the Yellowstone like you know it — because now you do.
The Yellowstone River Spring Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Yellowstone inside Yellowstone National Park from late May through June. The river opens July 1 inside the park, but spring conditions shape what works when the season begins — high, cold water, pre-runoff windows, and fish that are hungry and less pressured than at any other point in the season.
This box is built around the Yellowstone's spring hatch calendar — Skwala stoneflies, March Browns, blue-winged olives, and midges. Every fly was chosen with nymphing through cold, high water and targeting the brief early-season dry fly windows in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.
What's in the box:
36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering Rubberleg nymphs, stonefly patterns, BWO dries, and midge rigs. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.
Pro tip from the water: Get there in early June for pre-runoff windows before the Yellowstone blows out. A few days of fishable water before peak runoff can be the best fishing of the entire season.
Whether you're making your first trip to the Yellowstone or you fish it every season, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop.
Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines.
