The Gibbon River Fall Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Gibbon from September through October. Fall on the Gibbon is a quieter alternative to the Madison — similar fish, fewer people, and BWO fishing in the meadow sections that can be outstanding on overcast October afternoons.

This box is built around the Gibbon's fall hatch calendar — BWOs, Fall Caddis, and streamers for the larger browns in the canyon sections. Every fly was chosen with working the meadow outside bends and swinging Woolly Buggers through the deeper runs in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.

What's in the box:

36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering BWO dries, Elk Hair Caddis, Woolly Bugger streamers, Pheasant Tail nymphs, and Midge Clusters. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.

Pro tip from the water: Work the outside bends of the meadow section in fall — that's where the bigger fish set up in slower current waiting for the BWO hatch to come off in the afternoon.
