The Gibbon River Summer Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Gibbon from July through August. Summer on the Gibbon means PMDs, Caddis, and hoppers — and substantially fewer anglers than on the Madison or Lamar. The Gibbon Falls divides two completely different fisheries: below is canyon water with larger browns; above is meadow fishing for browns and the rare Arctic Grayling.

This box is built around the Gibbon's summer hatch calendar — PMDs, Caddis, and hoppers with terrestrials through August. Every fly was chosen with fishing both the canyon and meadow sections with appropriate patterns in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.

What's in the box:

36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering PMD dries, Elk Hair Caddis, hopper patterns, beetle patterns, and PMD nymphs. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.

Pro tip from the water: The Gibbon empties into the Madison at Madison Junction. Fish both rivers in a single day for two completely different experiences — the Gibbon's intimate character versus the Madison's wide glassy pools.
